About Us
We are a family business based in the Cotswolds, establishing our business in 2004 when Kes travelled to Zimbabwe to find talented Zimbabwean Artists creating amazing metal sculptures from recycled oil drums and other metal off cuts, and local carvers, carving the most wonderful sculptures from various beautiful stone from their local quarries using just simple tools, Kes watched how they turned lumps of rough stone into stunning sculptures. After spending 6 weeks in Zimbabwe Kes had bought enough pieces to fill the first container, this was the start of African Creations. We continue to work very closely with the Zimbabwean artists to bring quality craft and sculpture at affordable prices to the UK. Many of the pieces that you see are our designs.
Artisans
In 2009 we started Travellers Finds. Travelling to Thailand and Indonesia, we spend several weeks away a couple of times a year, where we work together with the families that we have worked with since the first trip, and travel around in search of new carvers and Artisans.
Why Travellers Finds?
We chose Travellers Finds, as we felt the name encapsulates anywhere in the world that we find handmade treasures. We are lucky enough to work closely with some amazing people and have built wonderful friendships over the years and now also have a lovely extended family. Dealing directly with the artists allows us to be a truly fair-trade company, as the artists and their families receive 100% of the money that they charge for their work.
We exhibit at various shows and events throughout the year and have a showroom at our warehouse in the Cotswolds, if you would like to visit us, please contact us to make an appointment. As an independent family business our customer service is our priority. If we can assist you in any way, please get in touch.
It is with pleasure that we showcase that wonderful work and bring you our collection of Travellers Finds.
Warmest regards
Kes, Lacey & Team
